The Big Interview - Ian Lowry
Words - PAUL LINDSAY
Ian Lowry has had a
tough season in British
Supersport ploughing a
lone furrow for the
Moneymore based
Relentless by TAS Suzuki
team. The 22-year-old
former chef has flitted
between the tried and
tested 2007 machine that
brought him the number 2
plate and Michael Laverty
the championship, and the
all new K8 GSX–R600
which like most new bikes,
still needs a bit more fine
tuning.
Lowry started his British
championship campaign in the R6
Cup before moving to TAS Suzuki in
2006, and having ridden shotgun to
both Tom Sykes and Michael Laverty
in recent seasons, Lowry is ready to
take the next step in his career,
whether that be British Superbikes or
World Supersport.
“British Supersport is not as high
profile anymore. It hardly gets any
space in the programme… it’s all just
BSB nowadays. That’s not the case in
World Supersport and if I had a
choice for 2009 that’s where I’d be.”.......
